Research activities:

General research interests that fall under my supervision are bacterial biodiversity, evolution and taxonomy, identification and detection. The current research projects in this respect are linked with bacteria involved in the Nitrogen cycle (denitrification & nitrification; methanotrophes); the role of aerobic sporeformers (Bacillus and related organisms) in a variety of niches e.g. raw milk; the role of aerobic gram negatives as Pseudomonas in regard to plant pathogenicity, raw milk and various other niches;  the presence and role of plantpathogenic pseudomonads/xanthomonads, their importance as quarantine organisms
